Did you know that Whole Woman’s Health offers virtual abortion services? If you or someone you know lives in Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Mexico or Virginia or can travel to one of these states, you can access abortion care without ever leaving your home. It’s fast, easy, and affordable. Best yet, you’ll still receive the same high-quality, compassionate abortion care we’re known for.
New data shows that medication abortions now account for more than half of U.S. abortions. That’s because it’s non-invasive and can be done from the comfort of your home or any place you choose. You can also decide if you want to be alone or with someone special.
Following a telehealth visit with a Patient Advocate and Board-certified Physician, a licensed pharmacy will discreetly deliver your FDA-approved medications (mifepristone and misoprostol) in as little as 3-5 business days.
WWH can offer virtual services to patients who:
- Have a positive pregnancy test
- Are under 11 weeks pregnant
- Are at least 18 years old
- Receive the medications at a Maryland, Minnesota, New Mexico or Virginia address
- Have no history of ectopic pregnancy
How it Works
Give the Virtual Services care team a call to check eligibility and book an appointment! If eligible, patients must fill out intake paperwork online. After that is received, details about how to connect to the video call are sent. Patients can expect one video visit that will be organized into two parts.
The first part consists of eligibility screening, counseling, any state-mandated education, and intake with a trusted patient advocate.
During the second part, you’ll meet with a board-certified physician who will guide you through the process.
Once the video call wraps up, the abortion pills will be ordered through a licensed pharmacy and delivered to your chosen mailing address. We can also deliver to some U.S. Post Offices via General Delivery.
The medication should arrive in 3-5 business days. Next day delivery is also available if you need to receive it sooner! Once the package is received, patients take the two sets of pills as directed. The first pill is mifepristone and stops the pregnancy from growing. The next set of pills, misoprostol, causes cramping and bleeding to empty your uterus.
If you have any questions or concerns about side effects and symptoms, you can call us anytime and speak to a nurse.
